Creativity and Curation at LikeMinds

Tomorrow I’m delighted to say that I’m heading down to the wonderful South West of England, to the City of Exeter for my 1st experience of the event that is LikeMinds. Full of anticipation and expectation I’ll be getting up at 4am and jumping on the motorway for an action packed day of ‘Creativity and Curation’.

For me the last 18 months have been bit of a journey, starting my first business and running a series of events (Social Media Monday) in London that inspired and evolved into a fascinating community that is fast becoming a business of it’s own. Along the way I’ve connected with some amazing people that inspire me and without knowing it have mentored me, for which I am very thankful and I owe some of that thanks to LikeMinds and many of their Alumni for being part of that journey. I’m also really looking forward to putting faces to some of those connections and taking in the topics that will be shared.

Back to my point about anticipation and expectation, the social media space in particular has been one that is tough to please and more than happy to pass comment, We’ve all probably attended conferences in the sausage machine world of ‘corporate’ and we quite often come out smelling of disappointment. The expectation we have of LikeMinds is created by the love and passion for people and community that both Drew and Scott have put into their brand, so my hat goes off to them for setting that bar high!

I have no doubt I’ll leave LikeMinds with great memories, and some answers to the question “What do you do when people can get all the content they want for free?”

To anyone that is attending that reads this, come and say ‘Hi‘, I’m there all day Thursday! anyone that hasn’t got a ticket… buy one if you can or tune in online..!
